About Jamie
My name is Jamie Marie and I'm a certified doula and childbirth educator. I am native to Northern Virginia and live in the Stafford County part of Fredericksburg, Virginia. I am married to my high school sweetheart, an Army National Guard service member. We have 8 children: 5 girls and 3 boys, toddler to young adult. We home-educate all of our children with three children that have graduated from our homeschool so far.
My Standards
I provide professional, caring, and attentive services to families. I try to keep an open mind and an open heart. I have a background in management and training as well as early childhood education and childcare. I originally received childbirth educator training and certification from Lamaze International. I attended a workshop for hands-on comprehensive labor doula training through a DONA International-approved trainer. I am a Certified Birth Doula and Certified Postpartum Doula with Madriella Doula Network and am currently taking addition birth worker certification courses with them and other organizations. I enjoy researching the latest evidence-based information in the areas of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, parenting, homeschooling, and all things family life. I am currently a professional member of the Evidence Based Birth. I have had the privilege of working with many families through my private comprehensive childbirth preparation classes. I love networking with other mommy professionals such as midwives, doulas, childbirth educators, lactation consultants, photographers, home educators, etc. as a way to find support for the work I do as well as a way to stay up-to-date in the latest techniques and information related to the services I provide.

For my pregnancy and birth-related services, I draw from my personal experiences from 18 pregnancies, 8 live births, 10 pregnancy losses. 3 of my births were fully medicated epidural hospital births, 1 was a home birth, 2 were non-medicated hospital births, and my last two births were planned hospital inductions due to high risk/complicated pregnancies that I managed without any pain medications/epidural. I have been honored to have attended 4 births, one as a doula for a hospital birth and the others as a support (2 hospital, 2 home births). I also draw in and value the experiences of the many other mothers that have shared their birth stories with me regardless of the type of birth they had. With this wealth of knowledge I am armed with, I am enthusiastic about empowering you to obtain a joyful birth experience.
